Dear Tri Sigma Parents/Guardians:

Tri Sigma has enriched the lives of its members for more than a century, and provides opportunities for personal growth, academic achievement, leadership development, service to others, and a lifetime of friendship.

This is such an exciting time! We realize that meeting academic demands and achieving scholastic success while honoring her commitment to the sorority will be a balancing act—and we are here to assist in navigating the way.

Rest assured, there are limitless opportunities awaiting your daughter within Tri Sigma. Comprehensive chapter support services, educational programs, publications, leadership conferences and membership development are also benefits available to your daughter as a member of Tri Sigma. Whether she participates in campus activities, intramural athletics, service projects or assumes a leadership role within her chapter, the national organization will be right alongside her to provide resources, mentors, and educational opportunities designed to promote personal development.

Please know that safety, harm reduction and prevention are extremely important—and Tri Sigma understands the value of guiding our members in responsible decision-making. Chapter activities should meet the social and developmental needs of college students, while also complying with state and federal laws and in accordance with Tri Sigma’s zero-tolerance hazing policy.

Sorority life is an enjoyable and rewarding journey and we invite you, as parents, to join in the fun. Take some time to learn a bit about this wonderful sisterhood. Welcome to the family! We are so pleased that your daughter accepted our invitation to membership in Sigma Sigma Sigma. We welcome her to our sorority and to our national Sisterhood! Tri Sigma has been enriching the lives of its members for over a century. The organization provides opportunities for personal growth, academic achievement, leadership development, service to others, and a lifetime of friendship.

This is such an exciting time! The collegiate years are busy, filled with all sorts of new experiences, and we are thrilled that Tri Sigma will be a part of your daughter’s life. Your daughter’s success is of the utmost importance, and we realize that meeting academic demands and achieving scholastic success, honoring her commitment to the sorority, and juggling social opportunities all during college will be a balancing act, and Tri Sigma is here to assist in navigating the way. Our strong membership development programming provides opportunities for your daughter to grow and flourish. Comprehensive chapter support services, educational programs, publications, leadership confernces and membership development are also benefits available to your daughter as a member of Tri Sigma. As an active, engaged member of her chapter, whether she participates in campus activities, intramural athletics, service projects or assumes a leadership role within her chapter, the national organization will be right alongside her to provide resources, mentors, and educational opportunities, intentionally designed to promote personal development.

Rest assured, there are limitless opportunities awaiting your daughter within Tri Sigma. Sorority life will be fun and being involved as a chapter member will enhance her life as a college student. Amidst the fun, your daughter will also have responsibilities. There are academic requirements, there will be chapter dues (which include national fees) and housing/parlor fees (if applicable), and attendance at chapter meetings and activities will be expected. Please also know that safety, risk reduction and risk prevention are extremely important, and Tri Sigma understands the value of guiding our members in responsible decision-making. Chapter activities should meet the social and developmental needs of college students, while also complying with state and federal laws and should be in accordance with Tri Sigma’s zero tolerance hazing policy. And of course, being a Tri Sigma is all about friendship. Tri Sigma friendships are built around our core values of wisdom, power, faith, hope and love. The friends she makes in the sorority will be with her for a lifetime.

The Sigma Sigma Sigma Foundation is another benefit which enhances the Tri Sigma experience. The Foundation not only provides funding for leadership and educational chapter programs, but it also offers scholarship opportunities to members. Historically, Tri Sigma’s philanthropy has supported hospital “play therapy” programs, and “Sigma Serves Children” has been and still is the focus and theme of our philanthropic endeavors. Most recently, and with great pride, Tri Sigma has partnered with the March of Dimes. Now, Sigma sisters not only will be serving the greater good through their individual chapter’s service programs and activities within local communities, but also at a national level, while working with the March of Dimes. The Foundation also secures funding for our philanthropic efforts and welcomes tax-deductible donations!

In Tri Sigma, our commitment is to enhance the lives of women.  We promote high standards of conduct, moral character, and social conscientiousness, touching the lives of over 100,000 women. We hope that you are pleased with your daughter’s decision to join Tri Sigma, and we are looking forward to providing her with a meaningful and fulfilling life-long experience.
